Integrated Tapping Station

Cuts the thread a drilled hole is missing.

A drilled hole is just a hole. Until it has a thread cut into it, a screw has nothing to grip. The T1 holds a tap on a vertical axis and drives it down into that hole, cutting the internal thread that lets a screw be tightened and hold.

This is a tapping machine. It does not drill, and it is not meant to: the hole has to exist first. What it replaces is tapping by hand with a wrench, where the tap goes in at a slight angle, cuts a crooked thread, and often snaps off inside the workpiece — a broken tap being far harder to remove than the hole was to make.

Holding the tap square is the whole job, and it is why the speed controller is external. Tapping wants low speed and high torque, and it wants to reverse to back the tap out and clear the chips. A trigger tuned for driving screws cannot do that.
